West Side Tour #1

Spent a cold January day touring Chicago's West Side.

Here are some brief highlights. Lots of these places will be more exciting come spring, but there was still a lot of beauty to be found.

(1) Humboldt Park


The Institute for Puerto Rican Arts and Culture was closed for New Year's, but will put that on the agenda for 2012.

(2) Garfield Park

Also looking forward to visiting the Chicago Center for Green Technology again when it's in full bloom.

The Conservatory was steamy and beautiful, despite the hail damage it sustained last summer.

The now-vacant Guyon Hotel, on the National Register of Historic Places:Link(3) Austin

Shepherd's Temple, which like the Guyon Hotel looks like it's not long for this world:
